“nominal” listening level when the ignition switch is turned back on.
Audio power can also be turned on by pressing the AM/FM select control
or the TAPE/CD select control.
Speed sensitive volume (if equipped): Automatically changes the
volume with vehicle speed to compensate for road and wind noise. The
recommended level is 1–3. Level 0 turns the speed sensitive volume off
and level 7 is the maximum setting.
To engage the speed sensitive volume feature, press and hold the volume
control for five seconds (with the radio on). Press SEL to
increase
/decrease volume compensation levels. The selected level
will appear in the display.
14. LOAD: To load a single disc,
press LOAD and then the
corresponding preset number. Press
and hold to load up to six discs. The load function is active whether the
ignition is on or off.
CD display description: Six circles are always lit in the digital display.
These signify the six CD slots in the audio system. When a disc is loaded
into a particular slot (1–6), the number inside that specific circle lights.
If the circle is empty, there is no CD in that particular slot.
This six disc CD player is equipped with a CD door. Compact
discs should only be inserted into the player after the door has
been opened by the player. Do not attempt to force the door
open. Compact discs should only be loaded by pressing the LOAD
control.
15. SHUF (Shuffle): Press to play
tracks in random order. Press again
to deactivate random play.
16. SCAN: Press for a brief
sampling of radio stations or CD
tracks. Press again to stop.
17. DISC TUNE: In radio mode:
Press
or to manually tune
down or up the radio frequency
band.
In CD mode: Press
to select the previous disc or to select the
next disc.
18. CD Door: Insert the disc with the playing side down and printed
side up.
